The NCLEX pass rates for year-end 2021 have been published and Shenandoah's BSN first-time test takers pass rate was 96.69 % !! This is far higher than the national first-time pass rate of 86.06% and is also one of the highest first-time passage rates in Virginia! This is such a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty. Congratulations to our 2021 BSN graduates!!

Unfortunately, inclement weather in the forecast has prompted us to postpone our MLK Day events on Monday, Jan. 17. In anticipation of the predicted winter weather, all Shenandoah University locations will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17. (Note that the Shenandoah University Child Care Center will make a separate announcement about their operations.)

Additionally, it will not be a workday for university employees (other than those who perform essential campus services), nor a class day for our students. This provides us all with a tremendous opportunity to hear the echoes of Dr. King's life and work in our daily lives — even on a snow day.

Although we will not be together as a university community on MLK Day, we encourage you to remember Dr. King on Monday and engage in an action that benefits another. You could shovel snow for a neighbor in need, collect a host of household items to donate to others in the community, be a listening ear for a friend in crisis, or take some time to be fully present for those who love you and whom you love.

Although the impending weather prevents us from participating in the events on MLK Day, there are two virtual MLK events later in the week that you may join at 1 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 20. Updated information is listed on the university's MLK website at su.edu/mlk.

The PA profession is exploding! It is one of the top five fastest-growing careers according to the Bureau of Labor statistics. In fact, the PA profession was named the best overall job in 2021 by US News and World Report. The PA profession took the No. 1 spot on both the 100 Best Jobs list and the Best Healthcare jobs list in the U.S. News and World Report's 2021 Best Jobs rankings released Jan.12, 2021.
The SU PA program continues to thrive, as demand for seats in both the Wi******er and the Scholar Plaza, Loudoun locations only grows. The future is looking incredibly bright for PA's!
Please join in celebrating our very own SU PAs!

Blessing of the Hands - Shenandoah University - Scholar Plaza: Loudoun campus

Yesterday, the Accelerated Second Degree BSN graduates celebrated the Blessing of the Hands ceremony virtually. Despite not being able to celebrate together in person, the ceremony was very moving. It was led by Dr. Kathleen Eid-Heberle, Director of the nursing program at Scholar Plaza, who read the poem "Reflections on the Hands of a Nurse" and led the students in the washing of the hands ritual. Videos were shared showing many great moments in their 15 month journey, as well as faculty and students sharing stories and words of thanks. Dr. Andra Hanlon, Interim Dean of the School of Nursing, also addressed the graduates with her heartfelt congratulations.

Hi there! I recently was accepted for the fall at this campus. I'm waiting on the official information in the mail, but I've been looking at apartments for rent in the area. Any suggestions? It seems like the cost of living is much higher than near the Wi******er campus. Thanks for the help!
