In 1978, the Lions were named WCAC (later renamed WCC) co-champions. Also that year, the baseball team made it the WCAC tournament in San Francisco, favored to win second. The golf team came in ahead of both St. Mary’s and Santa Clara in the West Coast Golf Championship, not to mention their 3 time victory against Pepperdine in match play that year. It was a good sports year for the Lions!
