One year later: USC alum’s startup aims to increase pet adoptions, save animal lives
In fall 2018, the Trojan startup Adoptimize won the $10,000 USC Stevens Breakthrough Innovation Award at the USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase, a USC student startup competition hosted by the USC Stevens Center for Innovation at the University of Southern California. Shortly after winning, Adoptimize founder Jessica Schleder (now an alum of the USC Marshall School of Business) took her business idea into the real world to install the startup's first pilot. Did you know there is one award at the USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase that is determined by popular vote? Last year the Trojan startup MedMind won the $1,600 Trojan Family Choice Award at the 2017 USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase.

Stasis Labs - Past Winner of the USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase
Four years ago, the Trojan startup Stasis Labs won two awards totaling $8,200 at the 2014 USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase. The founders have since raised $5 million in seed funding for their business, which provides a cloud-connected patient monitoring system for hospitals.

Carbon Thumbprint - Past Winner of the USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase
Last year, the Carbon Thumbprint team won $10,000 at the USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase for their technology concept to help hospitals better care for premature newborn babies. USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences student and social entrepreneur Kayla Soren won $5,000 at the 2017 USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase for her nonprofit, International Student Environmental Coalition.
