Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning to celebrate our graduates and support their incredible achievements. It was an inspiring ceremony marking not just the end of a chapter, but the beginning of bold new journeys.

Yesterday, our Biotechnology students showcased their original research projects at our annual Biotechnology Research Exhibition.

Projects included “B.E.T on Clean Hands: Soap vs. Sanitizer,” “Shining Light on Quantum Tunneling,” “CRISPR/Cas9: Crafting Light Beyond Earth,” and “BPA ELISA: Plastics to Plate.”

After the presentations, our STEM Department hosted a recognition ceremony for the Spring 2025 Biotechnology cohort, featuring keynote speaker Adel Villalobos, Founder and CEO of Lief Labs.

We’re honored to welcome former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra as our keynote speaker, with a special musical performance by Little Willie G of Thee Midniters.

We celebrated our incredible college staff yesterday at our annual Classified Appreciation Luncheon. Guests enjoyed a gourmet lunch prepared by our Culinary Department, participated in a raffle hosted by our Deans, and joined in recognizing this year’s Classified Award winners.

🏆 Sam Washington – Best Customer Service
🏆 Edgar Torres – Classified of the Year

We recognized staff members who reached milestone anniversaries this year, including several who have dedicated more than 35 years of service to the college.

We also honored Security Officer Eric Lopez, who is retiring after more than 25 years of service to LAMC through the Sheriff's Department.

Congratulations to all of our award winners, and thank you to all our staff members. We appreciate everything that you do!

Closing weekend for FRANKENSTEIN starts this Thursday! Don’t miss it!

Our students, instructors, and guest artists have collaborated on a new theatrical adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic science fiction novel, reimagining it for the present day.

Victor Frankenstein becomes consumed by the intersection of science and spirituality—creating life from assembled human parts—only to abandon his grotesque creation in horror. Left to navigate the world alone, the Creature witnesses both the beauty and brutality of humanity, and after being rejected by society, embraces its monstrous identity to seek revenge on its creator.
