On Wednesday, June 5th, Pepperdine Alumni from all five schools gathered for an evening of fellowship and community bonding for a night out at Topgolf venue. Hundreds of alumni from across the University’s five schools in attendance from varying professional backgrounds, demographics, and generations, set the stage for an invitation to reconnect with old friends, forge new relationships, and celebrate the robust Pepperdine alumni network!

The golf bays buzzed with excitement as guests, organized into 6-person teams, stepped up to take their swings. Attendees indulged in a tasty fajita buffet and left with a special gift from Pepperdine Alumni Affairs, carrying with them a tangible reminder of the night and the renewed sense of belonging to a vibrant and supportive community. It was an evening of shared memories, laughter, and the forging of new connections. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

The Master's of Social Entrepreneurship and Change program and the School of Public Policy were proud to honor GSEP alumnus, Calleene Egan, with one of the Social Impact Vanguard Awards! The Vanguard Award honors an SPP and GSEP alumnus who has shown exceptional commitment to investing in their community and creating sustainable social change through their professional and personal endeavors.

Calleene has served as Insight Housing's CEO since 2019. During her time as CEO, she has overseen significant growth at the organization; tripling the agency’s budget, expanding geographic impact, and serving more people in need of housing. She has guided Insight Housing’s 200+ employees in providing a wrap-around people-centered approach to supporting unhoused individuals in the community. She has transformed Insight’s financial and organizational focus, shepherding its transition from a small non-profit organization to a robust permanent supportive housing developer and advocacy organization operating in seven Northern California counties.

We applaud Calleene for her impressive journey as an impact-driven leader! Congratulate her in the comments!

The Master's of Social Entrepreneurship and Change program and Seaver College were proud to honor Seaver College student, Izzy Koo, with the Social Innovation Pioneer Award! The Social Innovation Pioneer Award honors a current Seaver College undergraduate student who demonstrated innovative thinking and effective action in addressing social challenges. The recipient is celebrated for their pioneering efforts in creating social change through their work and initiatives.

Izzy’s passions lie within the intersection of youth, faith, and justice. At sixteen, she wrote and published her first book, “Finding God, Finding Me: How I Met God as an Ordinary Teenager”. Since then, Izzy has been invited to speak to students at various churches and youth retreats nationwide. Last fall, Izzy studied in Washington, D.C., and interned at Bread for the World, an incredible Christian anti-hunger organization. More recently, she has been serving as the Next Gen Coordinator at the Asian American Christian Collaborative (AACC), bringing together her interests in faith, culture, advocacy, and youth. Izzy will release a Teen Bible Study Guide called “Finding You " this summer through AACC.

We applaud Izzy for all of her efforts and the bright future ahead of her! Congratulate her in the comments!
