The Center for Professional Pathways hosted its Spring Term Internship Symposium. CPP is committed to providing students with valuable experiential education.

The panel featured WOU students Torie Arnold, a Criminal Justice and Early Childhood major who interned with the Oregon Department of Human Services: Child Welfare, and Angie Rodrigues, a Biology major, who interned with Chintimini Wildlife Center, along with faculty!

Torie shared: "This internship didn’t just confirm that I want to be in this field; it lit a fire in me." Angie added, "I learned the importance of teamwork and that I'm braver than I ever thought I was."

Real-world experience makes all the difference!

From "UFOs" to "UAPs," the conversation around unexplained phenomena is evolving, and Professor Dickinson's Honors 300 class is right in the thick of it!

During spring term, the class attended the annual UFO Fest in McMinnville, OR. The class spent time diving deep into what pilots, military generals, and high-ranking government officials are really saying about Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) — formerly known as UFOs.

Happy Juneteenth! Today, we observe this federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S., two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Earlier this month, our Black Student Union hosted their annual Juneteenth celebration, an event featuring an art display by our talented BIPOC students Lars Greene and Rohan Nelson, support from clubs like Abby's House, Stonewall Center, MECHA, Unidos, and the DEI office, music, food, and inspiring words from Raymond White and RJ Hampton. Shoutout to this year's BSU Exec team: Joelle Upshur, Olivia Brown, and Jada Miller.

WOU is proud to celebrate this significant African-American holiday, honoring Black history, culture, resistance, and resilience.
