Success, Engagement & Retention of Veterans in Engineering & Science. (SERVES). The SERVES program is an NSF grant awarded program at ELAC that aims to increase the success of Student Veterans in completing their STEM degrees and transferring to a four-year university.
Yesterday, our ELAC Veterans had the unique opportunity to tour several labs & VRC at UCLA. Thank you to Dr. Kasko, Dr. Tripati, Dr. Ives & the .in.stem team for welcoming our Student Veterans.

Please join us for our Military Dependents Workshop on Dec 7th. Our workshop will cover different benefits and resources available to dependents & spouses. Benefits that will be covered are Cal Vet Fee Waiver, Chapter 35 educational benefits, and a presentation from Anthony Rodriguez, the Cal Vet Local Interagency Network Coordinator for Los Angeles. Mr. Rodriguez will provide an overview of the VA disability claims process and will answer questions from all participants. Attendees who RSVP by December 5th will be provided with complimentary lunch. Hope to see everyone there!

Another Charlie Mike in the books! Thank you to everyone who attended our 6th Annual Veterans Resource Fair. We appreciate all the support from our on and off campus organizations & programs who took time to bring these amazing resources to our military-connected students! We are inviting a range of vendors and representatives from veteran service organizations & programs, 4-year university VRC representatives, ELAC's student services programs. For our military-connected students, our Charlie Mike is a yearly reminder of available resources and support as they continue their mission through ELAC and well into their careers. This year, ELAC will open up our Charlie Mike to LA County Veterans, connecting them to higher education, to explore education benefits and services, and learn about support for student veterans at every campus. We're excited to bring Charlie Mike back to an in-person venue this year. We hope to see everyone there! Check with the VRC to view our growing list of participating representatives and organizations!
