About CMU’s New Venture Competition
The New Venture Competition at Central Michigan University is open to all CMU students (see rules for details). This is a free program to CMU students that helps them learn how to start a business through a series of 12 workshops that guide students through the start-up process. Students can attend events with multiple opportunities to pitch to proven professionals. This program can also help improve student’s skills and resumes with real life business experience. Students have the opportunity to network with mentors, advisors, investors, entrepreneurs, and other business professionals as well as collaborate with other students to form a strong business team.
After 8 months of hard work, students have the opportunity to pitch their business idea for over $100,000 in cash prizes and in-kind services at the New Venture Competition. This year will be the 9th year of the competition. We strive each year to give students a transformative experience with the New Venture Competition program.
