Our organization is dedicated to furthering mathematical scholarship and research. As part of that, we hold regular meetings which provide a forum for graduate students to present their academic interests in a welcoming environment. We also organize trips to nearby conferences, outreach in the local community, and other events designed to establish and cultivate relationships within the body of in

Our Pi Day celebration brought students, faculty, and pie fans together for a fun-filled event hosted by the American Mathematical Society. There was a pi recitation contest where 5th grader Drexler Demas wowed the crowd with 36 digits of pi. Then our pie-eating contest was won by CMU grad student Erick Tinitana. AMS graduate student president Isaac Cinzori added extra entertainment (and mess) with his enthusiastic participation. A special shoutout goes to the CSE Dean’s Office for their generous support in making the celebration possible.

Three recent CMU Mathematics PhD graduates, Hiruni Pallage, Bridgette Russell, and Christal Schoen, have been honored as 2024 MAA Project NExT fellows! For those who don't know, Project NExT is an amazing professional development program for new PhDs in the mathematical sciences.
