As the semester comes to an end, we want to congratulate all of our members that have earned the Miles, Lee Endowed and Outstanding Senior Student Awards! We also want to give a special thanks to our graduating seniors as well! Great job to everyone who earned an award and all of the members who are graduating. We appreciate all you have done for Gamma over the years and wish you well as you continue onto your actuarial journey!

Tomorrow’s meeting will be at 7:00 pm in Pearce 228. We will be talking through changes to the GIS constitution and voting on it. Additionally, we will be talking through the conference for next year (if you want to go, please attend this meeting). Finally, we will cap off the meeting and the year with a social event. As always there will be pizza!

This week’s meeting will look a little bit different than normal. We are not having our meeting on Tuesday (unless you are on the GIS eboard).

Instead, we Will be meeting on Thursday, 4/24 for a cookout with Dr. Miles (the professor who established our chapter and actuarial major) as well as the actuarial advisory council.
We will meet in Pearce 227 at 5:30 pm to carpool to his house (there is not a ton of space for vehicles). If you are attending, we ask that you RSVP and add on if you are willing to bring a dish to share.

Please wear nicer casual attire (not necessarily business casual)

This weeks meeting will take place in Pearce 228 at 7 pm, and we will be hosting ACTEX which is an actuarial study material provider. Please wear business casual. And as always T here will be pizza.

Tonight’s meeting will be in Pearce 228 and will focus on tips for navigating the professional world, including advice on jobs, career fairs, extracurricular activities, and conferences. Additionally, you will have the chance to hear from our 8 E-Board members about the skills they’ve learned.
It’s a great opportunity to gain valuable insights as you prepare for professional events—and yes, there will be pizza!

Tonight’s meeting will be in Pearce 227 at 7 pm. We will be welcoming Chris Place from Willis Tower Watson (WTW) he will be speaking about his experience as an alumni and as a consulting actuary. This will be our first speaker this year speaking about actuarial consulting. He has requested that we all dress casually so you do not need to wear business casual. As always there will be pizza!

For our meeting tonight we will hold elections for the 2025-26 GIS E-Board positions. After the elections, we will be working on filling out March Madness brackets and yapping. We will be meeting in PE 227 at 7 pm and as always there will be pizza.

Tonight we’ll be welcoming Julia Plotkowski (CMU Class of 2024) from Jackson Insurance. The meeting will be held in Pearce 227 at 7 PM. Please wear business casual, but don’t let that stop you from attending. As always, pizza will be provided!

Our meeting is TONIGHT, February 25th, from 5 PM to 9 PM and is a fundraiser in partnership with Ignite Donuts (located just off campus). Come out and get a delicious donut and drink. Make sure to spread the word around campus (your friends, classmates, and roommates definitely need a sweet treat)!

Also please reach out if you need a ride.

As a reminder, we will have a potluck tonight 2/18 at 7 pm in Pearce 228. This is a great opportunity to meet the faculty in the STAD department and network with those who will be a major part of your academic journey.

You are not required to bring something, but it is encouraged if you can. I have included a picture of what items are already being brought to try to eliminate duplicates. See everyone tonight!

We will have our first speaker of the semester at tonight’s meeting, Frankenmuth Insurance. We will have the opportunity to learn more about the company, network, and gain insight into working in the insurance industry. This will take place on the second floor of Pearce at 7 pm and there will be pizza!

Since we are welcoming a speaker we request that you wear business casual to the meeting.

Don’t forget that tomorrow (feb 7th), CMU will be putting on an All Major Career Fair in Finch Fieldhouse from 10-2pm. There are a few insurance/financial companies that would be great to go and network with.
