Check out the very cool work Dr. Hornak did with undergrad students right after commencement!

The Department of Counseling, Educational Leadership, and Higher Education collaborated with the Volunteer Center Alternative Break Program for a trip to Alaska!

Students first took a Disability in Higher Education course before traveling to Alaska to serve in partnership with Hope Community Resources, a non-profit organization that provides services and support to Alaskans, including building bridges for those with disabilities. The CEH Department spent the week implementing what was learned from their course through various services projects, providing manual labor at community homes and supporting their 5K fundraiser. Way to go, CEH students! ☝🔥

Drs. Hornak and Johnson linked up today to present at ACPA-Michigan’s summer conference at UM-Dearborn. Their session explored strategies for engaging hot topics in contemporary higher education and student affairs. It was a wonderful conference filled with good conversation, learning, and lots of former and current CMU people!
