On Thursday, February 13, Cecil College President Dr. Mary Way Bolt, Vice President of Student Services Dr. Kimberly Joyce and our amazing students headed to Annapolis to advocate for strong state support of the community college mission of providing affordable access to quality higher education and preparing the workforce for the careers that keep Maryland businesses, schools, emergency services, and infrastructure running every day.

Students met and spoke with legislative officials, including Senator Steve Hershey, about their request to support legislation that keeps community colleges affordable and accessible. Thank you, Seahawks, for your advocacy! .

Black History Cinema Presents: Selma
Thursday, February 20, 2025, 11:30 am – 1 pm
Location: Technology Center (Bldg. D), Room D106, North East Campus

Join us this Black History Month for a powerful screening of Selma, a film that brings to life the courageous struggle for voting rights in the 1960s. As college students, we have the opportunity to reflect on the history that shaped our world and honor the resilience of those who fought for justice and equality. Through the lens of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Selma-to-Montgomery marches, Selma challenges us to continue the fight for freedom and activism today. Don’t miss this chance to engage in meaningful conversation and deepen your understanding of our shared history.

Popcorn and pretzels will be served. Please join us!
