Michele (Scovill) Nicholas was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved with strength and the spirit of fellowship. Those who knew her well describe her as “one of a kind”. Her sense of style and humor, her bubbly laugh, positivity and kindness to all, made her an ‘original’ through and through.
Michele completed her journey home to heaven on June 4th, 2024, surrounded by her family at home, after a strenuous battle with endometrial cancer. She was 62 years young. Michele was born to Don and Evelyn Scovill on November 7, 1962. Michele leaves behind her parents, her husband of 40 years Jim Nicholas, daughter Rochelle Sadie, son Brandon Nicholas, and daughter-in-law Sarah Nicholas, along with two grandchildren, Lily and Alan Nicholas, brother Todd Scovill and wife, Brenda, along with many nieces and nephews.
Michele was a skilled piano player and singer, served in church on worship teams, choirs and filled her home with music. She loved wild horses, cowboy boots, and Sedona, Arizona, painting with her granddaughter and playing with her grandchildren Michele’s grandchildren brought her deep-felt happiness.
Michele was an organized planner! She loved to plan and host dinners, themed parties and church events. She had the gift of hospitality while causing those around her to feel a special sense of belonging in her presence. She exuded the spirit of table fellowship, and all are welcome. Michele loved serving in the women’s ministry at Connections Church and adored the residents she served through Presbyterian Homes at the Mayfield. Michele loved her co-workers just like family and did her job with passion, excitement, and joy! Her career was a special fulfillment as she was able to use her spiritual gifts daily.
Michele loved the Lord and trusted in His perfect timing. Her favorite verse states, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment” 2 Timothy 1:7. Her absence is widely felt, and she will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 4 pm at Meadow Creek Church, 3061 Bunker Lake Boulevard, NW, Andover, MN 55304, with visitation one hour before the services. All guests are welcome to stay for a meal after the memorial service.
Michelle and Jim Nicholas both graduated from Pillsbury in 1984 and were married on the same day. Jim also graduated from Central Seminary and is an assistant pastor. Keep him and the family in your prayers. Do you have memories of Michelle to share?
