Lunar New Year started Feb. 10, ushering in the Year of the Dragon and a new season of innovation, revolution and change. To celebrate, we've rounded up iconic (and nostalgic) pop culture dragons, all of which our faculty + alums had a hand in creating. 🐉

Wildfires are among the most urgent dangers facing California. In collaboration with the American Red Cross Pacific Division, ArtCenter received a prestigious grant from the state fire authority, CAL FIRE, for students to create a visually compelling statewide campaign to promote fire safety.

This project is close to our hearts in many ways — first, our Hillside campus is in a wildfire zone.

And more importantly, it was one of the final projects for Guillaume Wolf, a beloved instructor who passed away over the summer.

Read more about this important work and look out for this project, which will be promoted across social feeds: https://bit.ly/3Ue0QvT

Funding for this project was provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Fire Prevention Program as part of the California Climate Investments Program.

Recently, Art Director Tim Dean from XBOX’s Turn 10 Studios join us on campus to talk about various game studios under the XBOX brand, like Forza Motorsport, and tips for starting a career in this booming industry. Connections were made.

Pharrell Williams knows how to make an entrance: his Western-inspired wear for Louis Vuitton turned heads during the debut. The producer/designer also knows how to make an intro: He tapped Ron Husband — ArtCenter faculty, trailblazing illustrator, celebrated Disney Studios animator — to tease the collection with his vision of the first cowboy.

has received two nominations for brilliant performances!

Our very own Sisley Loubet — who expertly weaves dance + design in her creative pursuits — was part of the acclaimed ensemble cast.

Sisley's series of photographs, Pigment, delves into the intricate interplay between color and identity, drawing inspiration from the colorful artistic heritage of French Guiana, where she was born.

Her captivating image above was inspired by Alice Walker's quote, ”I think it pi**es God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it.” 💜

Sisley is certainly one to watch — follow her at or tembeyana.com

It’s not just Elon Musk’s Cybertruck. Car design is largely geared toward men, even though women buy more than 60 percent of all new cars sold in the US. EVs are a chance to right that wrong.

For Joshua You, it's all about the journey — in life, leadership and art.

The Fall 2023 Student Leadership Award winner and Illustration student came to this country barely speaking English, and on Saturday, graduates ArtCenter as an established Orientation leader, teaching assistant and peer coach.

In celebration of his achievements, we're sharing one of our favorite You designs, from start to stunning finish.
