We are grateful for all of your overwhelming support and prayers for our Fuller colleagues and students impacted by the fires. Some in our community have lost homes and belongings; others have been displaced. Many of you have asked how you can do more to support members of the Fuller family in need.

We’ve created the Fuller Emergency Support Fund to provide vital assistance to faculty, staff, and students for immediate needs such as emergency housing, food, and essential supplies, and to also aid long-term recovery efforts. If you’d like to join this effort for those facing loss and hardship, we’d be enormously grateful. Your gift will provide hope and a light in the darkness during this unimaginable devastation.

Join us as we walk with Christ through the Stations of the Cross on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10am PT in person in Travis Auditorium or online on Zoom or YouTube Live. As we consider the many tragedies we’ve experienced in the last couple weeks in Los Angeles and the ongoing tragedies around the world, let us gather together to ground our grief in the suffering of Christ, who fully understands our pain. We will journey through the 14 stations in song and prayer. We hope you will join us.

It is with great sadness, amidst the heaviness of the Greater Los Angeles area, that we must notify you that we need to postpone the MLK Celebration slated to take place next week. The raging wildfires, devastation of our communities, and continued efforts for relief and support should take priority at this time.
We sincerely apologize for all inconvenience that this decision brings. After much consideration, and after a number of conversations with leadership and stakeholders, it seems appropriate to focus on the local community first, and to reschedule our celebration.
Please keep our region in your prayers, there are so many communities and people that are suffering. The Pannell Center is strongly concerned about the area of Altadena, in particular. Given its racial, socio-historical context, we are horrified at the loss of life, property, and generational wealth in this area. Our hearts are heavy, but our hope is in Jesus.

As we continue to hear from all of those impacted by the wildfires, we are holding the tension between the grief and loss our community has endured alongside the gratitude for safety and ability to return home for those who are able. We are keeping all of these scenarios in mind as we look toward the coming weeks.

We’ve taken the measures we can to ensure safety and cleanliness on campus—clearing debris; deep cleaning classrooms, offices, and residential areas; changing air filters; and ongoing monitoring of air quality and other conditions. Therefore, we are thankful to announce that the Pasadena campus will resume in-person classes and operations on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

We also recognize there may be concerns and challenges for many to return to in-person activities, and many may need adjustments or flexibility. Fuller is committed to ensuring everyone in our community receives the assistance they need during this transition.

“At the present moment, all we can do is mourn with those who mourn, open our homes to those who have lost everything, and hold on to the hope that God will be with us as we walk through these fires and prepare for whatever uncertainties are still to come.”

Kutter Callaway offers a powerful reflection on the devastation from the Greater Los Angeles wildfires and how Isaiah 43 might serve as a reminder of God’s presence and redemption even in times of crisis. Read the full article on Christianity Today, https://loom.ly/48AQ4DY

As first responders continue to work hard to fight the fires, and our teams on the Pasadena campus are actively working to clear debris from campus and assess our facilities, Pasadena-based in-person classes, meetings, and events will be held online for the week of January 13–17, 2025.

In-person services, including the library and clinic, will continue to be closed, with the exception of Student Housing. Online courses will continue as scheduled, though we will be flexible to accommodate students in affected areas.

We recognize the devastating effect these fires have caused in our community and beyond. Our prayers are with all those who have been affected during this time.

Visit the link below, or the student or employee sites, for more information.
