Goooo Jenika!

Between lacrosse practices, games, class time, and student teaching, Jenika Cuocco, a current student in Drexel University School of Education and goalie of the Drexel Women's Lacrosse, does it all 🐲🥍

An accomplished athlete, Cuocco has been named the Goalie of the Year for two years in a row, and she was invited, alongside Coach Katie O'Donnell, to attend the U.S. Women's Lacrosse Field National Team training camp, earlier this year.

Off the field, she is studying to become an early childhood educator and has completed co-ops in pre-school and kindergarten classrooms around Philadelphia. Cuocco says that Drexel gives her the opportunity to build career experience through the undergraduate co-op program, while also raising the bar for herself as an athlete.

Last night, we kicked off something special with the first annual ILLEST Lab x Drexel Black Student Union Gaming Tournament sponsored by the School of Education. A night full of play, belonging, and Black joy in STEM. Seeing students come together to compete, connect, and celebrate each other reminded us why these spaces matter.

But we’re not done yet! This Thursday (5-7 p.m.), we’re keeping the energy going with a Blerd Panel featuring voices from gaming, media, and tech, followed by a Cosplay Competition celebrating creativity and fandom. Whether you’re into gaming, anime, comics, or just love seeing Black excellence in these spaces—come through!
