The reception for Anika Firehammer’s Thesis Exhibition is tomorrow, December 4th, from 4:00-5:30 in the Art Building (Student Gallery, Art 211).
Anika will be giving an Artist talk at 4:30.

These are some sneak peaks of her installation!

“Anika Firehammer is an artist driven by an irresistible need to create. For her, language often falls short in capturing that which stirs within her. She turns to artistic expression as a way to process and understand the complexities of existence. Her work is born from a blend of emotions—love and peace tempered by confusion and chaos—as she navigates the tensions of both her inner world and the world around her. Through various mediums—sculpture, installation, drawing, and mark-making—Anika invites viewers to reflect on how we navigate existence and what our place in the world looks like. Her work responds to the challenges of living in this modern world, inspire empower and connect people. By embracing our innate capacity for expression, she urges us to step into our light and shine unapologetically. Born in Minnesota and set to graduate from Willamette University in 2025, Anika rejects (as much as she can) societal expectations that dictate how one should live. Instead, she celebrates the limitless possibilities of life, believing in the transformative power of love, peace, and authenticity. For Anika, healing the world begins with individuals healing themselves. She reminds us: Take the time you need—it is all yours.”
