Delta Kappa Alpha (DKA) is a gender inclusive cinematic fraternity with the mission to engage the community philanthropically, socially, and professionally as well as create meaningful connections between students and professionals. Delta Kappa Alpha was founded at the University of Southern

California in 1936 as a cinematography fraternity. Over time it became an all-encompassing cinema fraternity and spread across the U.S. By the 1980's, all chapters of the fraternity had disbanded after the Hollywood Blacklist period discouraged artists from joining. In 2009, students at the University of Southern California revived Delta Kappa Alpha. Soon after, dedicated cinema students at San Francisco State University set out to bring DKA to the Bay Area. In Fall 2010 the twenty founding members of the SFSU Epsilon Colony began their journey. Today, Delta Kappa Alpha at San Francisco State University is a family of artists that continues to assist dedicated film-loving students carry on the tradition of learning and excellence each year with hands-on experience and strong values.
