Proud of our MPH graduates!
“Last Month I had the honor of attending the 2024 Policy Action Institute in Washington D.C. as an American Public Health Association scholarship recipient. This was a two day event where I learned from public health leaders, students, and policy makers from across the country to tackle today’s most pressing health threats at the local, state and federal level. Through this collaborative event we discuss proven and proposed policy solutions that have the power to improve the health of our country and the world.
Topics included: anti-racism, the Farm Bill (let’s get it passed this year please), education, LGBTQ+ health, gun violence, voting rights, and more.
As a soon to be Master in Public Health graduate it was incredibly encouraging to share the space with other folks just as passionate about public health, social justice and public policy. To quote Dr. Susan Polan from APHA, “…we are a mighty family!” “ - Daisy Valdez, MPH Candidate class of 2024 #SpeakForHealth #APHA #PublicHealth
Today is World Health Day
