Latest in Biotech news, Takeda gets approval for colon cancer drug. They paid $400 million to license the drug from Hutchmed (1). This drug will be a targeted therapy for metazoic colon cancer. The drug is cleared for adults with previously treated metazoic colorectal cancer (1). They can receive treatment despite what protein markers their tumors express as this drug targets all three subtypes of important cellular regulators, known as VEGF (1). It will be interesting to see the affect of this drug, Furzaqla, on the population.

We are midway through the semester, and that dreaded burnt out feeling may be starting to occur. Don’t worry, you are not alone. Here’s some of our favorite tips to help combat that feeling:
Relax and recharge: don’t overdo it! Schedule some you time or something fun to look forward to.
Make A Plan: organize your assignments and due dates in list of importance, time crunch, etc. to help maximize your study time!
Say no: Don’t overdo it with work, extracurriculars, friends, etc. The word no is a powerful tool to help stay focused.
Go Outside: Walking outside just for a bit is a great way to get re-centered and settle that build up of anxiety and nerves
Take breaks: studying for a long period straight usually isn’t the most productive time as we get frequently distracted. Scheduled breaks is a useful tool to help stay focused
Be easy on yourself: You are doing great and you are enough.
Practice self care: Do something throughout the day that brings you joy. It can be small like a walk in golden gate or larger like dinner with friends. Don’t forget those affirmations, too!
Reward Achievements: Anything you do, no matter how small or large, is worthy of celebration. You are worthy of celebration!
No matter what your semester looks like, you’re doing great! If you need help, the counseling and psychological services is a great resource to help manage stress, anxiety, and any other big feelings you may be experiencing! Their website will be listed below. Go dominate the rest of the school year! Go does!
