Regular Fall Library hours will resume on Wednesday 11/30.

The Monihan Atrium will be open for study on Monday and Tuesday 24/7 (valid student ID required).

"Ivan Hudson, Gleeson Librarian Emeritus, and a cherished member of the University of San Francisco community, passed away on September 23, 2024, at the age of 86. A librarian and anarchist, his life was a testament to the power of curiosity, service, and the pursuit of knowledge."⁠

At the library, we proudly celebrate the freedom to read and encourage thoughtful exploration of diverse ideas. Banned Books Week which is held from September 22nd to 28th shines a spotlight on stories that have faced challenges or censorship due to their themes, ideas, or content—often because they push boundaries, question norms, or challenge authority.

Incorporating these books into our collection ensures that everyone has the chance to access powerful, thought-provoking literature that opens minds and fosters critical thinking.

Head of Instruction and Outreach ar Gleeson Library, Annie Pho won one a Madrina Legacy Award at this year’s Women of Color Leadership Conference, hosted by the University of San Francisco Office of Antiracism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) in partnership with the USF Cultural Centers. It wasn’t until the announcement at the closing of the event that Annie was aware she had been nominated for the award.

Congrats Annie for a well-deserved award!
