Four students from our Epidemiology and Translational Science PhD program were recognized for advancing to candidacy at the inaugural UCSF Graduate Division Candidacy Ceremony. They and 77 other PhD students across UCSF were celebrated at the ceremony with mentors, family, friends, and supporters in the audience. He will serve as an Associate Director of Discovery AI Strategy and Education at the Bakar Institute and be a Consulting Advisor to the Chief Research Informatics Officer. TODAY AT NOON: Cardiovascular Health in Children & Adolescents with Norrina Allen, PhD, MPH, FAHA, Northwestern University.

The current generation of children is one of the first in centuries to have a shorter projected lifespan than their parents. One of the main drivers of this decline is the growing prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors. This talk will focus on highlighting the current state of cardiovascular health in children and adolescents in the U.S. In particular, we will discuss findings from the ongoing Young Hearts Cohort of over 9,000 children.
