Exciting news! The Dugoni School's Kids in the Klinic fundraiser recently raised over $1 million for dental care for underserved children! 🎉 This record-breaking event, themed "Breakfast at Tiffany’s," featured inspiring speakers such as Jackie Speier, health journalist Mary Otto, and other friends and supporters, along with live and silent auctions, raffle prizes and more.

Thanks to our generous donors, the Kids in the Klinic program continues to provide vital dental care to over 1,500 children each year. 🦷💖 Many young patients face significant challenges, and this initiative is crucial in ensuring they receive the care they need. Thank you to everyone involved in this inspiring event!

Today also is “World Oral Health Day,” an initiative of the FDI World Dental Federation, which aims to empower people with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to secure good oral health.

🚀 Five Questions with ASB President Nick Salameh, DDS Class of ’25!

Originally from Houston, Texas, Nick took an unconventional path to dentistry—starting with a finance degree and a consulting job before realizing his true passion for patient care. Inspired by Dugoni alumni, he pursued his dream and ultimately found his place in dental school. After graduation, he’ll return to Texas for an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at JPS Health Network.

Nick's leadership journey is all about elevating the student experience and fostering a culture of camaraderie and respect. Two of his favorite dental school experiences? Early Sunday morning practice sessions with classmates, sharing skills and encouragement, and making connections during the recent Alumni Weekend.

Across from the Center for Physician Assistant Education building is the Pacific Health Care Collaborative (PHCC), a facility with a collaborative approach to health science education and patient care. Dental services are performed by students from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry to underserved patients from Oak Park and the surrounding neighborhoods. 🦷 🏥 "We hope to improve health equity and put the patient at the center to improve their health outcomes, lower costs, and improve the experience of patients and providers," said Nader A. Nadershahi '94, '99, '11, dean of the Dugoni School.

Services currently being provided include consultations, check-ups, cleanings, fillings, implants, endodontics (root canal), dental hygiene, extractions, and other general dentistry services for adults, including emergency dental services. Sensory flexible care in dedicated rooms is also available for patients with intellectual, developmental, and acquired disabilities.
