On October 10, the Barnett Chair Second Chance Summit brought together leaders and change-makers from across the criminal legal system for a full-day symposium on resentencing, rehabilitation, and reentry. Panelists discussed innovative legislation and transformative programs that provide pathways to welcome home those who have paid their debt to society while also keeping communities safe. Alameda County Chief Public Defender and alumnus Brendon Woods ‘96 presented the keynote address and challenged audience members—lawyers, judges, legislators, law students, and citizens alike—to recognize their roles in either perpetuating or dismantling systems of inequality and oppression. Special thanks to all of the outstanding panelists and speakers. Read more about the event: https://www.usfca.edu/news/driving-change-barnett-chair-second-chance-summit
