Lourdes University Art Department

Our art programs are designed to provide a basis for further studies in preparation for a career as an art educator, art historian, art therapist, display artist, illustrator, interior decorator, layout artist, museum guide, stage designer, or visual artist, as well as related careers in communications and media. Art students and faculty actively assist non-profit organizations in their community

and nationwide, with the opportunity to engage in extra-curricular activities through student organizations such as Orbis Ars (world of art) and the Pre-Art Therapy Association.

We pay tribute to an amazing woman and artist, Sr. Jane Mary Sorosiak, who passed away yesterday. She helped build the foundation of the Lourdes University Art Department and also decorated the campus with her beautiful ceramic tile murals.
She was fiesty, intelligent, hard working (in the studio until just recently), creative and giving.
Rest in Peace sister as we carry on what you taught us! ❤️❤️

The conclusion of the OMA (Opening Minds through Art) internship for the semester. Pre Art Therapy and Psychology students working with Rosary Care Center clients. Even though the art is not the important part of the process, some beautiful things were created. Congratulations to all.
