Dr. Gregory Collins M.A. '14, politics, and Ph.D. '17, politics was just named the recipient of Yale University's Lux et Veritas Faculty Prize. As a member of the university's Department of Political Science, he has promoted open and civil discussions in the classroom, encouraging students to set aside biases and engage seriously with ideas. Congratulations, Dr. Collins!

The Buckley Institute is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2024 Lux et Veritas Faculty Prize is Dr. Gregory Collins, lecturer in the Department of Political Science and the Program on Ethics, Politics, and Economics at Yale University.

โ˜€๏ธ Powered ON! โ˜€๏ธ Catholic University's West Campus Solar Array is the newest addition to our campus, providing power to our neighbors and contributing to D.C.'s goal of 100% renewable energy by 2032. It is the largest urban solar array in the country and is capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions of over 1,500 cars.

Monday's sunny skies were perfect for celebrating Catholic University's brand new West Campus Solar Array, the largest urban array in the nation! Thank you to everyone who attended our ceremony celebrating the powering on of this clean energy source. Here are some other facts about this new addition to our campus:

โ˜€๏ธ The solar array will contribute to D.C.'s goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2032.
โ˜€๏ธ Energy produced by the new array will save 7.115 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. This reduction is equivalent to removing 1,527 cars from the road.
โ˜€๏ธ D.C. residents receiving energy from the solar array will save $3.5 million dollars over the next 20 years.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frank Persico, B.A. '74, M.A. '76, who served our University in many roles, including VP for University Relations and chief of staff.

Frank dedicated his life to CUA as a student and staff member. He was instrumental in establishing Murphyโ€™s Grill and left a lasting legacy, including Persico Way, a road named in his honor. Our condolences go to his wife, Stephanie, and their family.
