Vince Loran, a graduate of the Dog Tag Bakery Fellowship Program and of the Institute for Transformational Leadership (ITL), served in the United States Air Force for more than 21 years and retired with the rank of (E-7) Master Sergeant.

Since retiring, Vince has founded his own company, Ignite RPM, which offers business leaders and managers growth mindset strategies for improving results and reducing stress. He also co-hosts a podcast called “The Leadership Void,” in which the two invite members of the military and first responder community to speak about leadership skills, address problem areas, and share information about organizations in the community. A reminder about the upcoming Fall semester's operating status!

SCS Hoyas, we have an important announcement regarding the Fall 2021 semester. Beginning on August 16, Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies will resume regular operating status at our 640 Massachusetts Avenue campus. Here I Am | An Original Performance by Mélisande Short-Colomb:

A native of New Orleans who began her studies at Georgetown in 2017 at the age of 63, Mélisande Short-Colomb is a direct descendant of Abraham Mahoney and Mary Ellen Queen who were among the 314 members of the group known today as the GU272, enslaved people owned and sold by the Maryland Jesuits in 1838 to rescue Georgetown University from insolvency and bankruptcy.

More than an autobiographical chronicle, this ritualistic experience weaves narrative, music, and imagery, inviting the audience on an experiential journey exploring Colomb’s loving and complicated relationship with the institution that enslaved her ancestors.

Interrogating uncomfortable truths, rather than offering easy answers, HERE I AM challenges participants to bear witness and to reckon with their own histories, and to imagine the future of racial justice in America. Premieres on Tuesday, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. ET. Register below!
