We are so excited to welcome all of our new GW Law Students to campus this week for orientation. This week is filled with lots of new information, meeting new people, and seeing what this whole law school thing is all about. We know this can be overwhelming, and to ease some of those nerves, our First Year Students Team has organized a schedule of social events that accompany formal orientation.

Above, you can find the schedule of social events for the week, and if you swipe through the post, you can see more details about each event. Please RSVP using the link in our bio to the events you are planning on coming to so we know who to expect! If you have any questions, feel free to contact the FYS Team at [email protected], and we look forward to meeting you all very soon!

In honor of George Washington’s vision to educate the most promising students from across the country in the nation’s capital, our university was created in 1821. Renamed after an agreement with the George Washington Memorial Association, we officially became The George Washington University in 1904. Today, we honor our namesake’s dedication to education and celebrate his birthday.

On this December 3rd, GW Law SBA recognizes International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As student advocates we hope to continue to advocate for a more inclusive world. Today, we highlight the Disability Law Society that is proud to serve GW’s community of students with disabilities and disability rights advocates. DLS strives daily to make GW Law a more accessible place through advocacy on behalf of students with disabilities, networking and career opportunities for our members, and thoughtful discussion on what disability means in a modern world with practitioners in the field. We encourage anyone interested in disability rights to join the mailing list by emailing [email protected].
