This week’s Mission in Motion focuses on Jesuit Heritage Month. In addition to the array of events, this month is an opportunity to pause and reflect on Georgetown’s mission and values. “Our commitment to interreligious understanding—especially over the last 25 years—is rooted in our Catholic and Jesuit identity, informed by the documents of Vatican Council II on interfaith dialogue, and shaped anew by the call of Pope Francis to deepen our fraternal love for one another.”

"Noted." It means, "I get it," Lauren Strayhorn says. She doesn't mean that in a general way. No, it's something deeper, more resonant. It's more like: "I understand where you're coming from."

And so Strayhorn, a Master's in Integrated Marketing Communications program alum, created "Notedd," a unique newsletter to empower and inform Black professional women. Through her IMC program, she refined her idea, and her passion for supporting her community drives her forward.

"Just figure it out along the way—for every entrepreneur, it ultimately comes down to this: You really don't know how to start a business until—well, until you start one."

But Georgetown's Integrated Marketing Communications program gave Westerman Wells the skills—and the confidence—to strike out on her own. Westerman Wells launched her marketing agency, LION Brand Consultancy, just before graduation and now leads a thriving team serving clients like American Petroleum Institute and Raymond James.
