The Paralegal Alumni Association organized this year’s GW Paralegal Tech Talk event focusing on Cybersecurity and eDiscovery. The event discussed the growing importance of cybersecurity in the legal field.

Angela Masciulli, ACP, MPS, eDiscovery Project Manager, eDiscovery IQ. Angela holds a master’s degree in professional studies from the George Washington University’s Paralegal Studies Program and is a NALA advanced certified paralegal in eDiscovery. She leverages legal technical knowledge with more than 15 years litigation experience to more efficiently serve clients. In addition to regularly publishing articles on a variety of legal topics, she delivers training webinars and seminars to legal professionals in the areas of eDiscovery, introduction to employment law for paralegals, medical record evaluations, and anticipating attorney needs.

Elise is a litigation paralegal with over a decade of experience in the legal industry. As an undergraduate student at The George Washington University in the Integrated Information, Science and Technology program, Ms. Schaengold conducted extensive research regarding the role law firms' leadership play in developing and implementing cybersecurity measures within small and medium sized law firms. For her thesis project, Ms. Schaengold assisted a legal aid organization in Northern Virginia with developing potential cybersecurity policies and designed and launched a website providing a central resource for attorneys and staff of legal organizations in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland communities to discover free cybersecurity tools and educational resources to learn how to protect their firms.

Bruce Markowitz, Vice President of eDiscovery, Evolver.
Bruce leads all aspects of the Evolver’s Legal Services division, including operations, project management, finance, technology development, and business development.
Prior to joining Evolver, Bruce was the Director of Practice Technology and Information Governance with McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP for nearly ten years where he directed, managed and oversaw all litigation support, docket, and information governance operations across twelve offices. He had a long career with international law firms leading litigation practice support teams and as a frequent speaker, panelist, and member for professional organizations and conferences.
Bruce is a certified Enterprise Content Management Practitioner (ECMP); Enterprise Record Management Practitioner (ERMP), and Information Governance Practitioner (IGP). His professional activities include: Litigation Support Managers, Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM), ILTA, National Docketing Association, Georgetown Law’s e-Discovery Practice Support Distance Learning Committee, Member Information Governance Initiative, and Compliance, Governance & Oversight Council. Bruce is a graduate of Stevenson University.
