BellRinger is a bike ride that raises critical funding for cancer research at Georgetown's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and we are starting a DC Hoyas team this year! The Ride is happening October 25th and we would love to have as many DC Hoyas as possible ride with us by joining the team "Georgetown Alumni Club of DC." You can join our rider team and select 25, 50, 62 or 100 miles, you can be a Virtual Rider, OR you can volunteer to help out on the day before or day of the ride! Interested in learning more? Join the Brown and Georgetown Alumni Association DC Club’s for a night of learning and networking as we explore the Science of Happiness!

This thought-provoking evening will include guest speakers Zach Warren, PhD, MDiv (Georgetown PhD '16), who teaches a seminar on the topic at Georgetown, and Renee Kleris, MD, MPH (Brown RES '15) as they explore the Science of Happiness from lenses of psychology and public health. This inspiring presentation will highlight findings from cognitive science, social psychology, and medicine — all related to what makes us happy.

Light refreshments will be provided. Join us for lively discussion, practical tips, and a chance to explore timeless questions!

Theodore Roosevelt Island sits in the Potomac River near the Key Bridge. While the only way to reach the island by land is from the Virginia side of the river, the island is actually part of Washington, DC. Theodore Roosevelt managed to be both a man of action and a man of information. He studied birds, wrote a history of the War of 1812, and devoured hundreds of books a year. He even wrote A Book-lover's Holidays in the Open to answer the frequently asked question, "What do you read when you're out adventuring?"

In that spirit, we invite you to learn about the park.

Our trek starts as follows:

Place: front doors of the National Cathedral - 3101 Wisconsin Avenue, NW
Time: 9.30 a.m. gather; set off at 9.40 a.m.

- Cathedral to Wisconsin Ave. and 35th Street (1 mile)
- 35th Street to M Street (approximately. 2 miles)
- Key Bridge to Roosevelt Island (3 miles)

Get ready for a fabulous afternoon at the theater on Saturday, April 12th! Join fellow musical theater-loving Hoyas for a special outing to see Sister Act at Ford’s Theater. We will be catching the 2pm showing. The play's run time is 2.5hrs with a 15-minute intermission. It is recommended for ages 12 and up. Learn more about the cast and music.
