Established in 1869, Weatherford College is the oldest continuing community college in the Southwest.

Join Weatherford College Fine Arts for a special evening celebrating visual and musical talent on Thursday, May 1, at the Alkek Fine Arts Center.

Start your evening by exploring the Bi-Annual Student Art Show from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Texas Hall. See impressive works from our talented students in drawing, painting, digital media, and design.

Then, stay for the "Generations" Alumni Big Band Concert at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Theatre! Celebrate the history of WC Jazz as alumni and current students perform a mix of classic and new jazz pieces.

Put on your glass slippers! The Marjorie Alkek Community Musical presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and we're holding open auditions for the community!

Whether you sing, act, dance, or want to help backstage, we need you! All roles are available, and anyone ages 6+ is invited to audition.

🗓️ Auditions: May 31, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
🗓️ Callbacks: June 1, 1 - 5 p.m.

July 24-27 & August 1-3 (Fri/Sat 7 p.m., Sun 2 p.m.)

-- Prepare For Auditions --
Acting: Cold readings from the script.
Music: Prepare a 24-32 measure ballad AND an up-tempo musical theatre song. Bring your own accompaniment (Bluetooth speaker provided). Please avoid songs from Cinderella.
Dance: Will take place at callbacks.

We were pleased to join the Parker County Historical Commission this week for the unveiling of a historical marker commemorating the Comte Paul de Bresson thoroughbred stable.

The stable has a fascinating history, as shared by the PCHC: "Pictures of the stable recently surfaced thanks to Dora Law to whom they were given many years ago. The black-and-white photo is dated 1940. On the back, Adell Massey relates that her mother, Lucy (Grandjean) Gladson “went to dances in this barn”... The color photo is undated, but says it is of Paul Massey (1903-1971) sitting on his red tractor in front of the stable."

We are incredibly proud of our WC agricultural students who excelled at the Texas Junior College Agricultural Association Convention! The chapter earned 2nd place in the Outstanding Chapter category and 3rd place in Sweepstakes. We also had numerous individual winners, including Makenzie Bowman (1st in Equine Science), Mary Karen Oneil (1st in Wildlife & Entomology), and many more! Our Story

Established in 1869, Weatherford College celebrates its sesquicentennial year in 2019. WC services the people of Parker, Palo Pinto, Hood, Wise and Jack counties with campuses in Weatherford, Granbury, Mineral Wells and Wise County. The student population is approximately 6,000 with about 1/3 of those enrolled in dual credit courses at their respective high school.
