The brethren of Albert Pike Lodge No. 303 gathered together this evening in the character of masons to offer a tribute of affection to the memories of their departed brothers during the annual Lodge of Sorrow. After opening lodge, the officers led a procession from the lodge to White Chapel Memorial Gardens cemetery where they performed the burial ceremony over the coffin of a notional brother representing all who passed away during the last year.
Before depositing the evergreen, the coffin was opened revealing an hourglass, a globe with checkered pattern representing the mosaic pavement, and a mirror reflecting the face of the brother looking in before he placed his own evergreen and bidding Alas!
The Grand Architect of the Universe showed mercy and extended grace to the assembly by banishing the wind and allowing a balmy 33 degree evening with just some leftover snow on the ground.
The brethren proceeded back to the lodge, closed in due form and fellowshipped with a light meal.
We were more than privileged to honor our departed brothers. Behold how good and how pleasantβ¦!
