Between research and practice: design investigation in BPro RC18 brought to Le Fanu Skate and Playpark

In the context of planetary urbanization, the city paradigm constitutes an obstacle to tackle future environmental challenges. New urban models are required to understand better how the urban environment is challenging the Earth System and how it affects the primary biochemical cycles that support life: Carbon, Nitrogen, and Phosphorous cycles. RC18 looks at complexity theory: the hierarchy and laws in complex adaptive and physical systems to propose new urban models bridging across scales, from the planetary to the scale of the primary chemical elements supporting life. Using the latest technology in digital imaging, crawling, and processing data, we explore the boundaries of the creative process, producing new materialities that go beyond the physical world we experience.
