The Mood, Emotion, & Development Lab at Vanderbilt University is conducting a study to improve treatment for teen depression. Teens with symptoms of depression may be eligible to participate. Participants will complete interview and questionnaire assessments, along with computer games. Participants will then be offered an 8-week research-based cognitive behavior therapy group that teaches skills to cope with depression, and will be asked to complete additional assessments during and after treatment. The Mood, Emotion, & Development Lab at Vanderbilt University is conducting a study examining emotion and social behavior in children. Children ages 8-10-years-old may be eligible to participate with a parent or legal guardian. Parents and children will be asked to complete questionnaires. Additionally, children will be asked to complete computer tasks, as well as surveys on a smart phone provided by the study team. Children who are interested and eligible may also complete an fMRI brain scan. Financial compensation and prizes will be provided.
