Drexel's Eta Sigma Delta

Drexel's Eta Sigma Delta is an International Honor Society that strives to create programs and services in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Eta Sigma Delta was created in 1978 by students from the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business and Economics. They saw the need to create an organization that distinguishes students in the hospitality and tourism industry that demonstrate wonderful academic achievement, praiseworthy community service, and professionalism. Today there are over 90 active Eta Sigma Delta chapters around the world.

Major: Hospitality Management

Favorite Class: Ethic Cuisine/Mediterranean cuisine because this is where the majority of our culinary influences stem from or have became influenced over time and there for with the help of colonization, help spread the knowledge. There is more to just the flavor, aroma and presentation of the food, how the we came to eating such a dish is due centuries of wars, trades and conquering of lands.

Favorite Class: Commercial Food Production; I love the team spirit aspect of the class, plus you will get a lot hands-on experiences. It is also a great opportunity to train your leadership, since you have the chance to act in the leadership role and guide BOH.

Why ESD: I believe it is a great professional organization to join, I have the chance to network with professionals and peers in the hospitality industry and participate in an organization shows campus engagement which improves my resume. Plus, it is a great place to train my interpersonal and leadership skills.
