We are excited to share Veronica Blackham’s achievement of being invited to the exclusive Exchange24 event hosted by XQ and the Carnegie Foundation at the Melllon Auditorium in Washing, DC this last week. There, Blackham was able to represent Idaho on a panel about math badging presenting to a diverse audience of students, educators, designers, artists, philanthropists, journalists, and policymakers including state superintendents and representatives from the US Department t of education all gathered together in a commitment to rethink high school!

Meet our Math Specialists! When Carol isn't teaching math she loves to spend time with her family and see her grandkids. "I really can't get enough of them!! We have a great time together and it is so amazing to see my kids be such great parents! Plus, I get all the fun and joy of being around my little grandkids, without much of the responsibility. No pressure! Just having fun!!

Another thing that I do a lot and love to do is travel to foreign places with my husband. We love seeing how other people in the world live; experiencing their food, culture and architecture or countryside. I just love it and hope to be able to visit many more places in the future!"

Meet our Math Specialists!

When asked what her favorite grade to teach Courtney said, "I think my favorite grade to teach is fourth grade. The students make great leaps in their mathematical understanding at that age and get to focus on important concepts such as applying multi-digit multiplication and division. Fourth grade is also the year for fractions. Teaching and learning fractions can be so fun if it's done in an exploratory way. I think fourth graders have such amazing mathematical ideas, and they are beginning to really unleash the creativity and beauty in math."
