‘Bascot w Raha’ Is a Chevening-led podcast addressing pressing national and social challenges in lebanon.
The podcast is a series of informal Tea talks that will take place on a bi-weekly basis in the presence of a live audience from Beirut drawing on the knowledge, expertise, findings, and personal stories of Cheveners, UK alumni, and beyond in Lebanon.

• To bring together alumni from across the country to work together and share their experiences.
• To draw on the expertise of leading experts share their knowledge and new ideas in their respective fields.
• To conclude with actions or calls to action, as appropriate.
• Raise the profile of the Chevening brand & programme.
This podcast relies on the value of authentic conversations and great guests to generate unique and engaging content every episode.
👉🏻STRUCTURE:
Every 2 weeks, different Cheveners interview academic experts, policy-makers, leading thinkers and researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, policy-makers, activists, and other actors to share their knowledge, expertise, findings, and their personal stories on pressing national and social challenges in Lebanon, as well as to discuss future development, in the presence of a live audience over some ‘Baskot & Raha’, a typical Lebanese dessert, served with a cuppa.
The podcast will cover key topics related to national and social challenges in Lebanon that will fall in line with FCDO priorities and more specifically the British Embassy Beirut’s Country Business Plan related to key challenges in Lebanon such as Human Rights, Gender, Reforms, Economy, Energy, Environment, Arts, Technology, and more.
