After the successful visit of the Abbott Pharmaceuticals ® team to GMU on August 15 that included career counseling session and interviewing GMU PharmD candidates, 3 out of 5 candidates were selected for the Medical Sales Internship positions. These interns will spend 3 months in Abbott and partner with the medical sales representatives in the field gaining exposure to a day in their life, coordinating sales activities, maintaining good customer relationships with internal and external stakeholders. GMU COP continues to provide its students with unique opportunities from world-class partners and experts to advance their career upon graduation and beyond.

The GMU Pharmacy Students' Association is having a poster competition to honor World Immunization Day, and you’re all invited to participate!

How to Participate:
Pharmacy students are tasked to design an attractive and innovative poster for World Immunization Week 2022 that promotes the need for vaccination in pursuit of a long life well lived.

Submissions should be in PDF Format

Winning Poster will be displayed on the College of Pharmacy wall!

On Monday 18th April 2022, Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) interns organized a community awareness event on managing health during Ramadan and changes to various chronic disease medications during fasting.

The event was held in the grounds of Thumbay University Hospitals in two sessions; morning and evening after Iftar hours.

Posters elaborating on non-pharmacological managements of Cardiovascular, Renal, Gastrointestinal and Nutritional health as well as Diabetes were covered.

Dr. Dixon Thomas, Associate Dean Clinical, College of Pharmacy commented, “Talking professionally to people from community prepares students to be socially accountable once they reflect on their experience systematically”.

As a part of the “Together We Rise” tutoring program, our college of pharmacy has organized a great set of courses in collaboration with College of Pharmacy, California Northstate University, USA. This initiative was done to allow our tutor students to reach their full potential and provide the best help they can when teaching!
