FABULAMUNDI 📝

Last week, we wrapped up an intensive workshop on dramatic structures led by New Voices playwrights Helena Tornero, with the guidance of Magdalena Barile, for the students of the Playwriting for Performance course at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan 🎭

Days of discussion, writing, and research marked another meaningful chapter in a long-standing collaboration between PAV/Fabulamundi and the Paolo Grassi Theatre School.

A shared experience that continues to create opportunities for exchange, new encounters, and fresh perspectives on dramaturgy.

See you again soon! ✨

A space dedicated to promoting Fabulamundi’s playwrights and creatives!

Excited to see ‘Our Parents’ begin its journey to the stage at Belgrade Drama Theatre!

Written and directed by — one of the playwrights from the latest edition of New Voices — the play follows three couples over the course of a single evening on a cruise ship sailing through the Greek islands, tracing stories of loneliness, intimacy, and the search for someone to face the end with.

‘Our Parents’ is the second part of Patrik’s trilogy, following Our Son, and continues his sharp and deeply human exploration of contemporary life through humour, irony, and autofiction.

We’re thrilled to see this new work taking shape in rehearsal and can’t wait for the premiere on 6 June 2026 ✨

A body is discovered in a Romanian forest near a remote slum. But the case behind it is far more complex than it initially appears…

In this commissioned work for the Elise Wilk takes a sharp look at the widening gap between rich and poor in Europe.

Kaleidoscopically, she offers profound insights into the diametrically opposed realities of her characters’ lives and their inner worlds. Without judgment, with great empathy and quirky humor, she invites the audience on a quest to discover our own social responsibility.

Over these days in Sopot 🇵🇱, conversations became visions, and connections deepened into renewed commitment. ✨

As we begin shaping the next edition of Fabulamundi, one truth remains: this alliance thrives on dialogue, care, and the strength of building a broader, more diverse creative community 🎭

Heartfelt thanks to all our Partners for such an inspiring weekend, and especially to Anna Wakulik for hosting us and guiding us through the captivating history of Sopot and the Free City of Gdańsk!

🎉 Massive congrats to Lena Riemer for winning the Vienna Theatre Prize Nestroy 2025 (Category: Best Newcomer) for her play, Aufstiegskörper 🥳

The play, developed within the New Voices workshop Drama Lab led by .studlar and  and supported by  delves into the struggle for upward mobility, the search for belonging, and the obstacles encountered on the path to the elite.

🎭 This fragmented and incisive text — moving between an unreal underdog story and everyday humiliation — makes the consequences of the fight for social mobility not only visible but tangible.

The audience follows these “upwardly mobile” individuals through scholarship programs, witnessing how they navigate the educational funnel and structural inequality.

✨ Narratives of Tomorrow: Empowering Truths ✨

At the International Conference in Riga, Fabulamundi joined the conversation on how playwriting can become a space of empowerment, a living laboratory for untold stories and new pedagogies 📚

Our Project Leader Claudia Di Giacomo and Project Manager Valentina De Simone took part in the panel “Narratives of Tomorrow: Empowering Truths – Fabulamundi Focus” together with New Voices playwrights Katerina Součková and Mihaela Michailov.

Together, they reflected on the power of writing to challenge fixed truths, share diverse perspectives, and create connections across borders.

The discussion highlighted theatre as more than a mirror of the world, as a space to reimagine it, to search rather than stage, and to empower both writers and audiences in shaping new ways of seeing and feeling our time 🎭
