💡STS Talk: We are thrilled to have Professor Amade M´charek share some of her latest work on the RaceFaceID project (https://race-face-id.eu) in our first of the year.

Professor M´charek joins us from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam where her work has centred on the ir/relevance of race in science and society focusing on genetics and forensic practice, exploring issues of post-coloniality, temporality and identity. We hope to see you all soon at this fascinating STSTalk!

STUDENT FILM SCREENING – VISUAL ETHNOGRAPHIES OF SCIENCE at the Festsaal of the Technisches Museum Wien, Tuesday 24 March, 16:00–17:30!

The Technisches Museum Wien and the University of Vienna cordially invite to the screening of the short ethnographic films produced by the students of the course 'Visual ethnographies of science: Investigating knowledge production through media practice’.

The public screening of eight short films offers insights into the working procedures and conditions of different science institutions in Vienna, including laboratories, museums, and a university library. Two films focus on day-to-day processes at the Technisches Museum Wien, documenting museum employees carrying out established workflows and conducting interviews with them.

📅 Come join us on Thursday, 24 March, 4pm at TMW - Technisches Museum Wien for a film screening of eight short films produced by students participating in the 'Visual ethnographies of science' course.

🎥. The public screening offers insights into the working procedures and conditions of different scientific institutions in Vienna, including laboratories, museums, and a university library.

The course was taught last semester by Department of Science and Technology Studies's Sarah Davies and Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology - University of Vienna's Sanderien Verstappen. We look forward to seeing many of you there, entry is free!
