🥉 Meet Tien Dat Dinh, our Bronze medallist in Cookery at the South Australian Metro WorldSkills Regional Competition.

An international student from Viet Nam, Tien Dat is studying the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (109627D/SIT40521) after completing his Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (109764F/SIT30821) at TAFE SA.

During his studies, he’s learned to cook cuisines from around the world, from French and Italian to Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian and Korean.

“My advice to fellow international students would be to give it a try if you are genuinely interested in cooking and want to build a career in the hospitality industry. Be open to learning new things and don’t be afraid to ask questions.”

Did you attend the 2026 International Career Information Session and Networking Event?
The event brought together TAFE SA international students, staff and industry representatives. Big thanks to guest presenters from StudyAdelaide, National W**e Centre, Adelaide Venue Management, SkyCity, Adelaide Oval, Skilled Migration and Engineers Australia, who talked to our students about career pathways, job opportunities and ways to gain industry experience.

Cocktail-style food at the networking event was proudly prepared by our Regency International House and served by TAFE SA Hospitality students 🥰🙌

Meet Celeste from Argentina.

From improving her English through TAFE SA's English programs to completing the Certificate IV and Diploma of Community Services, her journey has been shaped by new experiences, lifelong friendships and the confidence to step outside her comfort zone.

The role plays that once felt intimidating became opportunities to build confidence. A placement at Lutheran Care - Family Zone brought everything she had learned into practice. And alongside classmates from the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Singapore and India, Celeste found a support network she never expected.

It's a journey that's taken her far beyond the classroom. 💙

Meet Leo Do from Vietnam.
Leo is studying the Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management [099074G/CRS1400588] at TAFE SA, combining his love of food with a bigger goal: understanding how the industry works from every angle.

From industry excursions and field trips to five-star hotels, Leo is embracing every chance to learn and grow. He was recently selected to compete in the 2026 Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award, which brings together emerging culinary talent from across Australia and New Zealand to showcase their skills in live cook-offs judged to international standards 👨‍🍳🏆

As Leo puts it:
"Be confident, dare to think and dare to do, be clear and be brave, and say yes to every opportunity because each one leads you somewhere new where you can learn something more."
