ANU Bangladesh Student Association participated in the Mother Language Walk-2026 to celebrate the International Mother Language Day.
On this day, we remember the brave Language Martyrs of 1952 who sacrificed their lives to protect the right to speak in their mother tongue. Their courage reminds us that language is dignity, freedom, and identity.

Hello everyone,

A quick update. Thank you to everyone who joined today’s meeting.

As shared earlier, we circulated a form to collect expressions of interest for the new ANUBSA Executive Committee. We received responses from three people for three separate positions.

For the Secretary position, Abida Sultana was the only person who applied, and she was also present at today’s meeting. She has therefore been selected as Secretary for the 2026 ANUBSA Executive Committee. Congratulations, Apu!

The other two applicants were not present at today’s meeting. After discussion and with everyone’s agreement, we have decided to reopen the form to collect expressions of interest again for all remaining positions, except the Secretary role.

Those who applied earlier but were not present today are requested to apply again. The form will close on 17 December at 11:59 AM. If only one person applies for a position, they will be selected unopposed. If multiple people apply for the same position, we will conduct an anonymous voting process.

Please fill out the form to share your interest. This applies to both new applicants and those who applied previously.

Thank you, everyone!

With great sadness, we share the passing of our beloved brother, Dr. Majhar, from Canberra, in a tragic accident near Harden, NSW, while returning from the IPDC cherry-picking event. Once we receive the Janaza details, InshaAllah we will share them with you .
