Introducing the first edition of Girls Who Read Econ! 💚

For our first book rec, we’re taking a look at Freakonomics - a book that asks what happens when we look beyond what people are supposed to do and instead follow the incentives that shape what they actually do.

Our review breaks down why this book is such an interesting introduction to thinking about economics beyond the classroom, and why sometimes the most interesting answers are the ones we least expect.

We are excited to announce Eco with Espresso with WEN! ☕️

WESS is partnering with the Women in Economics Network (WEN) to host a coffee chat designed to connect students with professionals in the economics field. 

WEN was established to promote and support the careers of female economists in Australia through increasing female representation, promoting public contributions by female economists, and encouraging young women to pursue economics. 🩵

 🕐 Time: 12–1pm
