Being in the Cruiser Class meant a return to the scrutineering halls of the Convention Center for pre event judging, this design judging included incentives for sustainable, marketable, smart design features that were included into Cruiser Class cars like ours.

The best anyone could hope for was to be rewarded zero time penalties and unfortunately we ended up mid pack with a 49 minute penalty that we had to serve at the Katherine control stop.

The final leg of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge threw everything at us — rain, hail, and intense crosswinds — but DUST pushed through and made it just 24 km north of Adelaide, at the extended finish line time of 5:45 PM.

We came in 4th on road position, just ahead of Sunswift and Apollo, unfortunately, all three teams landed in the “no longer competing” category.

Adding to the drama, we were handed a 30-minute time penalty on Day 5 that was later overturned by the BSWC Faculty after the race. Had that decision come earlier, the outcome could have looked very different for DUST.

Despite the tough finish, the team is walking away proud and inspired. The spirit, determination, and teamwork shown throughout the challenge have been nothing short of incredible.

And as for the car itself, we couldn’t be happier, she handled like a dream in all conditions, and we think she looks like a superstar!

We’re more motivated than ever to return in 2027 and complete what we started. Watch this space — DUST is just getting started!

Thank you to everyone at and for an unforgettable experience!

DAY 6 🌤️
It’s the final day of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge and DUST is ready to roar!!! We have a big challenge ahead of us trying to get to the next control stop - Port Augusta, before it closes or we are out of the race.

At 10am there was an emergency tire change, which the team worked together to get it done fast and efficiently in probably the worst weather conditions so far.

We have been over taken by Sunswift and are hoping to get our place back!! LETS GO TEAM DUST 🔥🔥🔥

DAY 4 🌙
Yesterday the team crossed the NT and SA border! The car traveled smoothly yesterday, the team did have to make an adjustment to the wheel cover.

Team DUST pulled over on the side of the road 120km from Coober Pedy in the red dirt for the night.

The scenery was stunning so the media team took that advantage to get some incredible photos of the team. In these photos you can see Angus, Tamanna, Liv, Sakthi and Archie. Some of these guys are behind the magic of the social media posts!!!

Today DUST travelled 510km from 9:15am this morning. There were a few bumps throughout the day after a rough start. The crew almost made it to the Tennant Creek this afternoon before the 5pm cut off. There were a few over takes today and lots of data collected to help with strategy throughout the next few days.

The crew have parked up at a caravan park in Tennant Creek for the night with a few other teams. Big shout out to our drivers and passengers today Josh () Dave ( ) and Aaron ()!!!

DAY 1 ☀️
The World Solar Challenge has officially begun. All teams began at Parliament House in Darwin and had to make their way out to their first driver change stop. Massive thanks to our day 1 drivers, Josh and Dave for pushing through today the crew couldn’t be prouder.

DUST made it to Katherine and had to do a half an hour stop then additional time that was based off our Deaign Judging score just like the other solar cars.
