As I come to the end of my term as GUMSA President, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey.
GUMSA has always been about more than events or a committee title. It is about creating a space where Muslims feel they belong, where our faith is nurtured, where friendships are formed, and where we can support one another in both our deen and dunya.
To my executive team, officers, subcommittee members and volunteers: thank you for your time and dedication, especially behind the scenes. To our chaplaincy, Student Guild, sponsors, collaborators and the wider Griffith Muslim community: thank you for your trust and support. Every contribution has helped shape GUMSA into what it is today.
And to you general members and attendees, thank you thank you thank you. Your support is what drives us to dream big.
I pray the next committee builds upon what we have started, achieves their own goals and serves this community with sincerity, compassion and a genuine commitment to Allah SWT. 2027 Team, the baton is now in your hands!
Jazakum Allahu khayran for allowing me the honour of serving you.
- Dania Jaber, GUMSA GC President 2026.
