In the past, we have held many successful events, which include opening night featuring gastroenterologists sharing their experiences and clinical knowledge, gastroenterology pathway events in 2011 and 2012 with reknown gastroenterologists, and joint appearances with Hepatitis NSW for hepatitis awareness. out gastroenterology! Founded in 2010, the UNSW Gastroenterology Society is the premier organization for medical students at UNSW who have an interest in Gastroenterology. GastroSoc aims to inform students about the field of gastroenterology. In the past, we have held many successful events, and has the proud support of Australia's leading gastroenterology organization - the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). We are proudly supported by UNSW Medsoc. Our goals and objectives are:
1. Introduce medical students at UNSW to the profession of gastroenterology and expand the cultivated interest we have in this field.
2. Develop skills in the field and integrate this with learnings from the new medical program at UNSW.
3. Organize events that provide a platform for students to network with leading gastroenterologists.
4. Facilitate entry of medical students into the profession via activities and projects.
