2 weeks of food industry placement experience 🥼🍓
Over the last two weeks, I’ve been a student intern working within the Research & Development Department, at McCormick Foods Australia. I had the opportunity to work alongside the Consumer & Sensory Science, Packaging, Culinary, and Product Development teams. These experiences have been incredibly fulfilling and rewarding as I continue growing into the role of a future nutrition professional. I was fortunate enough to work under the guidance and expertise of several talented individuals who were inspiring and supportive as l built confidence and knowledge. These supervisors were integral to my enjoyment and success at these placements.
These experiences highlighted the importance of recognising that much of my prior learning from the Food Innovation major has been grounded in industry frameworks, and I remain committed to continue learning in this space. The skills and experiences I gained during this placement will have a profound impact on the type of professional I become moving forward.
This placement has given me a clearer picture of the kind of professional I hope to become, and I’m thankful to everyone who made it such a positive and enriching experience. I’m grateful for the valuable experiences gained so far and look forward to the new opportunities and challenges ahead. 🩷
