Well now’s your chance! PHYSOC will be running an EGM on Friday of week 5.

Available role: First years representative
Time: 5pm, Friday of week 5 (20/03/2026).
Location: G59/60 OMG

Post EGM we will be celebrating with a pub crawl - route TBA.

Time: 3-4:30pm @ G59/60 OMB.

These workshops are an amazing opportunity to ask any questions you have about Latex or just to learn from scratch.

Latex is an amazing and free typesetting system that you will find highly beneficial for your lab reports, mathematics assignments and much more!

On Wednesday March 4th beginning at 5pm, the Physics society will be hosting an astrophysics talk night.

You will hear from 3 speakers, who will present their research . The speakers will be:

Sarah Brough - Observing the faint Universe with Rubin Observatory’s Legacy Survey of Space and Time

Caroline Foster-Guanzon - My foray into figuring out why galaxies slow down as they age

Jesse van de Sande - The hamburger versus the pizza conundrum: which viewing angle best describes the ingredients of galaxies

PHYSOC will be hosting a super awesome games night during Friday of week 2! (27/02/2026)

Location : Physics Theatre OMB

There will be a Nintendo switch, plenty of board games to go around and of course our awesome Physoc team to chat to!

I’d like to also make a quick note that food and drinks are not allowed inside of physics theatre so please try to not bring any inside! Cheers!

Week 1 2026 already!!!!

Let’s all celebrate the starting of the new academic year and term together with PHYSOC.

We will be hosting a little get together at chancellors Lawn on Tuesday of week 1 (17/02/2026) at 1:15pm.

There will be free food, you can ask us questions about your courses and what to expect, and of course kick a ball with PHYSOC!

Can’t wait to see you guys there! Please don’t hesitate to bring your friends!!
