My beautiful daughter turned 1 today! What an amazing year of motherhood it has been. I never knew that being a mother would be so rewarding and exhausting at the same time.
At the same time I wonder how I ever lived without her. She is the light of my life making me feel uplifted even in my darkest of moods.
I pray for her to grow up knowing that she is beautiful, loved beyond measure, supported in every path she takes and someone who is special in her own way.
I once read a quote saying that we should not try and make our children like ourselves for they are born for a new time, a new era and as part of a new generation. This is why I will never tell her how to live her life but only guide her in the best way possible.
Here's to many, many adventures with my little princess ๐Ÿ‘ธ

Cauliflower can be a bit bland on its own so when you are cooking it add a stock cube for some flavour. Combine with delicious flavours and you have a winning low GI meal!

Aim to make healthy eating for your kids two things: Normal and fun! Stress, frustration, begging them to eat, bribing them with other foods, distracting them with TV and other tactics may work in the moment but won't help them appreciate healthy food long term! Put healthy food in front of them daily! Vegetables need to be in as many meals as possible so they become NORMAL. Consistency and persistence is the key! You're a great parent, you want the best for your kids. Keep a long term mindset and take the pressure off yourself. If you focus on these two things: normal and fun - healthy eating will be second nature to your kids in no time at all!

What an awesome idea!

Staying healthy doesn't have to be complicated if you just take it one step at a time. Here's a crazy idea - what if every time you or someone you love complains "I really need to lose weight!!" you remind them to get up and walk for 5 minutes?? That's called being proactive and making a difference ;)

PS - The average person walks about 1/4 mile in 5 minutes. After a 10-hour day of 5 minutes of walking each hour, you've stacked up 4 solid km of walking. After a 12-hour day, you've managed just about 5km. Never knew it was so easy to go so far, right? ;)
